Online Training Library® (IP Program)

The Online Training Library® (IP Program) allows an organization to run the lynda.com Online Training Library® on one workstation (per license) without the need for individual logins or passwords. It is ideal for Libraries, Schools, Computer Labs, or workplaces that want to offer the full contents of the Online Training Library® to anyone with access to a shared workstation. The program is based on tying our service to an IP address, not a user. Please note that this solution is hosted by lynda.com, not by the purchaser’s organization. This license applies to one user at a time on a shared network; if more than one person needs to be able to access the Online Training Library® at the same time, multiple-user IP Program licenses would be required.

Technical Requirements:

1. IP Address: The IP address must be a public address (non-NAT). The customer may provide this by providing a gateway address, which will be shared by all machines that will be viewing movies. The alternative is to provide a direct public address for each licensed machine.
2. Maximum Users: This program is limited by the bandwidth of the customer. Customers using a computer laboratory environment will be limited to the bandwidth available between the lab computers and the Internet.

Note: It is recommended that your network administrator get involved prior to licensing a multi-user IP account from lynda.com. The network administrator needs to be able to guarantee 150KB/s concurrent bandwidth access for each machine that will be used to view movies. The aggregated bandwidth needs to be guaranteed from the machine to the organization’s Internet connection. If going through an ISP, the network administrator needs to be able to guarantee the aggregated bandwidth through the provider.
